THE PENALTY FOR INBREEDING

The penalty for inbreeding on the Isle De Mantaraya will be swift and ultimately effective.  A zero tolerance policy will be put in place to deter this behavior.  There will be one penalty... immediate deportation to West Virginia where they have a long standing open door policy for these types of offenders.  There will be a lasting and positive influence on our nation with the continued dillution of settlers and citizens that feel this behavior is appropriate.

While watching the Wild and Wonderful Whites it was very apparent that the White family was very anti-social to people outside of their family, but towards their family members they were very social. One law that I would enact in order to help deter out settlers from being so anti social would be mandatory schooling for younger children, where they would be with children their own age for long periods of time getting to interact with one another. I would also highly encourage that parents help to socialize their kids, whether that be through school or extra curricular activities. I would hope that through this interaction that they go through as a child and for the rest of their lives that it helps them gain the necessary skills to be social people in the world. As Aristotle said, "Man is by nature a social animal..."

If citizens break the law, depending on the degree of the crime, it will determine what work camp they will go too. 
Violent offenders will get Camp 101, where they will make roads and help build 5 star resorts. Prisoners will work the manditory 10 hours shift daily. Prisoners will be provided
with 3 meals a day. If a prisoner causes harm to another person he/she will lose one of their meals for 3 months,
if they continue they will only be provided with one meal a day. Juveniles will be put into camp TYDLO(turn yo damn life around)
where they will work 6 hour days, helping the community by picking up trash and working for the prison car wash. 
If charged with a misdemeanor, the accused must serve community service.

ISLA DE MANTARAYA EDUCATIONAL LAW

Education is provided by the federal government and enforced by the city government. Education is required for all citizens on Isla De Mantaraya. Citizens over the age of eighteen and have graduated high school are given a placement test to determine which classes or schools to attend. There is different schools with different classes to help each citizen achieve their education. It is extremely important for everyone to contribute to our economy, and the educational law makes this a requirement. Children start in preschool at four and attend until they are either seventeen or eighteen and have received their diploma through high school. If children aren't attending school the city government will place the child in a boarding school, to ensure education is being received.

After watching the movie about the Whites of West Virginia it is very apparent they feel as if they are some what above the law and have no sense of fear of death. Now knowing that the native population of our island consists of people like the whote family it is apparent that we must construct strict laws that will deter people from being dangerous to themselves and one another. One way that I would combat this situation would be making it harder for people to get welfare by making them go through mandatory monthly drug tests. If they fail a drug test then they won't get any money, simple as that. I would also forbid inbreeding as it causes genetic defects in children, as well as putting a harsher sentence on drug dealers and those caught with drugs and/or paraphernalia.

CONTROLLING CHAOS

With the increasing influx of the "White Family" style plague on our little slice of paradise, it is becoming increasingly important to determine how control can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time. Estimating that our native population will out number us in the next thirty years, strict rules must be put in place to insure the balance of well being within our nation.  As I, the President am currently dealing with the the direct issue of my daughter being involved with one of these cretons, I personally understand the importance of wrangling in the antics of the native population.  First, there will be strict drug laws put in place to deter the rampant use of narcotics among the immigrating parties. These laws will apply to all but hopefully will create an elevated level fear among the natives as it relates to illicit drug use in our nation. Heavy first time penalties will be imposed if these laws are broken.  Second, there will be no welfare aid to immigrants, natives or current citizens where inbreeding is involved. The dumbing down of our nation will not be tolerated and parents, domestic partners and children of such inbreeding will face deportation to West Virginia, which currently has an open door policy for accepting these types of citizens. There they will find peace and a feeling of belongingness. We will as a nation, continue to monitor this domestic issue and will continue to research new and effective ways to maintain our Caribbean paradise Isla De Manta Raya.

Preventing dangers to our society

After watching The Wonderful and Wild Whites of West Virginia, it has been made clear that laws and policies are crucial for a safe environment for our country. I think there are a many laws and/or policies that prevent some of the situations that took place in the documentary. Our country should have at least one law that prevents the use of drugs around children. Doing drugs is one thing when it affects them as a person, but it becomes a dangerous environment for children to be in. Children shouldn't be around any drugs, which is why I think we should put in place child endangerment laws. This would give the state state police the power to take away a child from a home, that is a dangerous environment for them. I think we also need welfare regulations, that prevent people from living off the system when they have no respect or regard for life. Selling drugs and stealing needs to also be addressed, so we have a safe environment for everyone living in our country. Given, that everything seen in the documentary should be illegal, I think some of the topics discussed would be a good place to start.

Ensures that all citizens are treated equally. Federal and city governments can't create or in force laws based on an individual's gender, age, race, or religion.  It is unconstitutional for federal or city governments to be discriminatory to any individual,  as we all have the same rights.

7 Places with no laws

What would be the point of a law if there is noting enforcing it? Look how beautiful Somalia looks without any laws there. The criminals run the show, the ones who can put fear into the people. Just like the movie, Liberty and his gang harassed the citizens of the town to the point where the citizens would let them run all over them. You need the law and Ransom was the one to deliver that law.

Valance stole his girl and tom got his house burned down. Why would Tom wait so long to kill liberty? Why didn't he just shoot him in the beginning? Why wait for more people to get hurt? Tom is defiantly a little strange to me.

Weird City/State Laws

Blaise Pascal To me this quote is very powerful, and after watching "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" it really helped to cement the meaning of this quote for me. But when I read this quote I couldn't help but think of those weird laws that cities and states have that are just completely off the wall and are not enforced. Such as; Arcadia, Alabamas law which states that a peacock has the right of way when crossing the street, or New Yorks laws which states that on Sundays you are not allowed to walk around with a ice cream cone in your back pocket, or Louisannas law which outlawed gargling in public places.Whenever I come across these weird laws, it baffles my mind that all of these laws were passed through congress or through other forms of legislation and that at one point in time these laws were enforced. But it goes to show that a law which is not being enforced is completely unnecessary.

Balancing Law and Force

After watching the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence the quote “Law without force is impotent; force without law is blind" By Blaise Pascal, I realized how important laws are in society and what can happen without enforcement. I interpreted this quote as without force, society wouldn’t see laws as important enough to abide by. By enforcing laws, people are able to understand there are consequences to unlawful actions. Without enforcing them people would be doing whatever they wanted and chaos would ensue. While using enforcement for these laws, it has to be done in a lawful way. Therefore, law and force are both necessary as there isn’t one without the other. This quote is an example of why it’s important that there are laws in place for different business practices. Laws put in place for businesses are made to protect everyone that is involved. This is exactly why it is important for businesses to follow the laws, without doing so it becomes dangerous for everyone involved which almost always causes havoc. For example, all businesses have to have worker compensation. This law is put in place to protect employees who are working for the business. If this wasn't enforced, employees could get seriously injured on the job and have to pay all medical and other expenses on their own.

We have the federal government trying to mandate how a company allows access to its product via special software. This is a hot topic because on one side the access to Apple's information could aid in the efforts of monitoring terrorist activity. While on the other hand, allowing access to the federal government on freedoms such as this can pose a frightening scenario for some. While we as a people need the regulation of law to manage our society we also can not blindly follow the law or it's makers when it infringes on our personal liberty.

One of the big controversies surrounding the 2016 presidential debate has been about Senator Ted Cruzs citizenship and whether he can actually become president. Senator Ted Cruz was born in Canada to a US born mother and a Cuban born father. Article 2 of the US Constituition states that  “No person except a natural born Citizen . . . shall be eligible to the Office of President.” But since Cruz was born in Canada, by common law is not a "natural born Citizen". But with out going to the Supreme Court or to Congress it is impossible to know whether Senator Ted Cruz is considered a "natural born Citizen" and whether he actually has standing to run for president.

 This is an interesting article obviously meant to sensationalize one specific viewpoint.  I do find it funny that many of these facts haven't made their way to the headlines on a regular basis.  I assume that they're being held as ammunition in the case that Cruz does draw the nomination.  Some of the examples given are commonplace such as naturalization and his ability to run for the presidency, while others discuss his $40,000 annual health plan with Goldman Sachs.  The topic brought up that I found interesting was that Cruz's father fought along side Castro, while his Aunt fought against the communists. With Cruz not being a U.S. soil born citizen and his father being a former Cuban National, the Democratic party will have some stones to throw if that time comes. I can imagine that Trump will have more to say to pressure the Federal government before the Democrats ever get a chance.

Is Ted Cruz a natural born citizen or no? This has been a huge controversy since the beginning when he decided to run. Cruz was born in Canada 1970 and his mother was an American citizen, yet his father was a Canadian citizen. According to the constitution you must be a natural born citizen. US Citizenship effecting candidates running for president?

Almost all elections for positions in office, have come across a situation regarding the legitimacy of citizenship for some candidates. Many people have different opinions of what being a citizen of the United States means.  According to The Constitution of the United States, the fourteenth amendment, Section 1 “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside..” The most common issue is what “naturalized” means, which is; anyone who is born out of The United States to both parents who are citizen, also makes the baby one as well. The other part of this means, if a baby was born outside The United States, it would be a citizen if the “fathers” were. Therefore, this doesn’t clarify if that means the citizenship comes only from the father, or if the mother was a citizen it would make the baby one as well. Given that the issue to serve as president of The United States, falls under the Federal Government, the federal laws apply when serving.  However, this could also conflict with the State Government and their laws if they happen to disagree with a person whose citizenship is in question. This is because their laws apply to their own state which could differ from others. Issues of citizenship and running for office has happened many times over the years, yet the Supreme Court as of right now, hasn’t got involved.  After researching this topic, I’ve realized why it’s such a popular argument between candidates.

We are researching the right to run for the office of President of The United States when you are born outside the country. However, being born on military bases throughout the world may create a loop hole.

This is just a test, to make sure the blog is up and running. As per our discussion in class we are writing about the legality of where candidates are born in relation to their ability to run for the Presidency.
