Preventing dangers to our society
After watching The Wonderful and Wild Whites of West Virginia, it has been made clear that laws and policies are crucial for a safe environment for our country. I think there are a many laws and/or policies that prevent some of the situations that took place in the documentary. Our country should have at least one law that prevents the use of drugs around children. Doing drugs is one thing when it affects them as a person, but it becomes a dangerous environment for children to be in. Children shouldn't be around any drugs, which is why I think we should put in place child endangerment laws. This would give the state state police the power to take away a child from a home, that is a dangerous environment for them. I think we also need welfare regulations, that prevent people from living off the system when they have no respect or regard for life. Selling drugs and stealing needs to also be addressed, so we have a safe environment for everyone living in our country. Given, that everything seen in the documentary should be illegal, I think some of the topics discussed would be a good place to start.

I completely agree that there should be a law that forbids people from fling drugs around children. It should be common sense for some one not to expose some one so you to something so dangerous, but since they have no regard for life they don't really care. Which is really sad for not only the kids, but the adults themselves too.
I totally agree with your opinion as a whole. Children shouldn't be put in this type of environment. They will likely grow up to be the same as the parent, or at least in the White family. The question i wonder is If the children weren't raised with them, would they still be as bad since they are blood related? I think maybe if they were raised in a good home, they would be good themselves, possibly with a few of the same traits as the white family.
