The Great Nation of Nacirema

Ductus Virtus ... lead by virtue

The Nation of Nacirema has a population of 50,001 people. In an effort to further serve these loyal citizens, we have created a system of government that we believe will solve many of the problems faced by countires today. In Nacirema, we have 25 different townships. All the citizens of the township are required by law to vote, and the majority (51%) of the votes give the township its one vote. All townships are given only one vote, and since there are 25 townships, there will never be a deadlock. The elected leader of these townships is called "El Jefe." Our constitution is called the "Grand Charter of Nacirema", and it follows a few key principles of the U.S. Gov. National Anthem to be unveiled soon!!!!!

The Nation of Nacirema sounds good so far. I love that voting is required by law! It really frustrates me that many people in the U.S. don't care about having the right to vote and simply don't bother with doing so. Of course, they still complain and come election time... they have the nerve to tell those who vote in every election what they should and should not vote for. I know, my stepmom does this to me. I let my group know this morning that I think our country should have mandatory voting, but I'm not sure whether they're for it. So, good for you! What's the process for earning citizenship as a newcomber? Hee, hee.
