Nombre Temporary Assistance Act (NTAA)

NTAA requires eligibility process for all applicants. This is a temporary assistance progam for Nombre citizens in need. NTAA will provide assistance to anyone that qualifies for the program. There is a sixty day maximum of assistance and may be used one time every two years. This is a program designed to assist families or individuals in need of medical, food, shelter, and money.

Reasons for needing assistance:

            *Deceased Spouse

            *Loss of Job

             *Severe Illness

Benefits:

            *Full Medical and Dental Benefits

            *Temporary Shelter

            *Food Vouchers

            *Financial Assistance Based on Family Size

Unlawful Acts by citizens:

            *Nombre citizens shall not interfere or harass any person receiving assistance.

            *No citizen shall apply for assistance more than on time in a two year period

            *All food vouchers must be used to assist the family and shall not be exchanged for     money or drugs. This will result in loss of citizenship with no exceptions.

            *All financial assistance shall be used to provide for the family. Any financial assistance used for drugs will result in loss of citizenship with no exceptions.

Enforcement:

            *Nombre will take legal actions to have any citizen and their family removed from the island if they are found guilty in the act of abusing the system of temporary assistance.

            *A half day trial will be held and all evidence for or against the defendant will need to be presented in that four hour period. A final judgment shall be made at the end of trial.

Timeframe:

            *Nombre citizens are only eligible for Temporary Assistance one time in a two year period with a maximum of sixty days.

            *At the maximum of sixty days, Nombre citizen receiving assistance shall resume employment. If employment has not been accomplished the citizen shall be assigned a position with the country of Nombre.

What source do the funds come from?

            *Every citizen shall pay 1% of their yearly income and it shall be applied to the fund of that citizen number.  The Country of Nombre shall match equally the amount collected and shall remain in the fund up to the age of 65 at which time the funds shall be transferred to retirement fund of such citizen number and dispersed over the following forty years.

Death is a delicate topic in our society and many carry varying opinions on the matter. I think that assisted suicide should be allowed as long as it is not abused. Individuals should be carefully screened to make sure they are terminal with no possibility of recovery. Only under those circumstances do I believe this should be a legal practice. When it comes to the issue of abortion I personally don't believe in the practice, but I still think it should be a legal practice. Its the individuals body and I don't think the government should have control over what they decide to do with it. Lastly there is the issue of the death penalty. I believe the death penalty should be used more often than it currently is now. When a prisoner is sentenced for a lifetime in prison without payroll they cost taxpayers millions of dollars over the remainder of their lifespan. I think that it saves taxpayer dollars and more efficient than sustaining them in a lifetime sentence

The Topic of Assisted Death

Suicide: This is one of those topics that is frowned upon. It is a copout on life, an excuse to not face reality, and the ultimate sin if you're a God fearing person. People commit suicide for many different reasons, however the decision to take your life if you are terminally ill and you don't have the desire to live with those conditions may be justified in one's head. Assistance of the suicide from a doctor that will set up and provide the equipment and the medication is a touchy subject and could be viewed many different ways but the bottom line is...suicide is suicide no matter why or how it happens.

Abortion: A very controversial topic with many opinions on it.  So here's the problem with abortion, for some reason only the voice of the "Mother" is heard. What about the "Father"? He has no say in whether or not the life of is unborn child should be terminated but if the Mother decides to give birth to the child and the Father doesn't want the child, he has no say but is obligated for the next eighteen years to financially support this child. As it stands today; this is a just law on it's face and an unjust law in it's application. As far as I'm concerned, the second there are functioning organs and a heartbeat there is no doubt that that is a fetus. My own personal opinion: From the day of conception it is a life in the making and deserves a chance to live.

Death Penalty: Another one of those highly controversial topics that many people have strong opinions about. I personally do not believe in the death penalty but I don't believe in any luxuries in prison either. Maybe they shouldn't be killed but kept locked up in a small room with only water and enough food to sustain life. No t.v., no gym equipment, no cigarettes, no juice, coffee, or soda, no luxuries of any kind. It would keep our hard earned tax money to a minimum and the rest of their life unfulfilled with hours on end to think of why they are living in hell for the rest of their lives. Death for those who have committed crimes to that magnitude is the easy way out and doesn't really seem like punishment.

On the taking life

With regards to the death penalty, I believe, that in the United States areas with a policy of capital punishment have no significant reduction of crimes that constitute that degree of punishment.  That is, the death penalty acts not as a deterrent within the parameters of utility.  Though, the implications of the death penalty go beyond effectiveness and purpose.  That is to say that philosophically it can carry the implications of things such as vengeance, the nature of justice, and other areas of personal philosophical dispositions when it comes to taking the life of another as a mechanism of "justice."  Personally I view some merit to taking the life of another who has committed heinous actions against another human being.  Abortion I will keep simple, as far as I am concerned as we stand now it is still a gray area of the definition of life and what constitutes becoming an actual "sentient life form" if you will.  It also delves in the area of self ownership and choice.  On the assisted suicide.  Is it the taking of one life by another human being or the taking of ones own life by choice?  Such a can of worms can be opened with this one, though as long as one is able to make a rational decision (whatever parameters that must encompass) one should have the ability to choose what they with in regards to their body. 
  

These three topics are considered the most divided categorizes. For years we have debated these issues and continue to do so to this day and probably in the future as well because it involes someones greatest treasure, thier life.

I believe that if someone is in a medical situation and they are deemed terminally ill and THEY THEMSELVES want to give up and end thier own life, they should have that right. Suicides happen everyday without the help of a doctor, why cant those who are ill have the same right but with the help of a doctor? I think that it is selfish for someone to push a loved one to continue if thier quality of life is not only extremely poor but painful. And the only one who should have a right to end your own life should be YOURSELF!

On the topic of the Death Penalty, I also believe in it. The Death penalty has always been here throughout the Roman Empire, The Greeks, and even more locally HANG TOWN. It has always been used, so why do we feel the need to become these self righteous people and pretend that it wont or hasn't happened? People who are sentenced to Death Row are not the ideal citizens, they have been convicted of murder, numerous counts of rape, and torcher. Of course there will be flaws in the system due to wrongful convictions, and with the technology nowadays it helps clear their names or solidify their guilt, but there is a process that allows them to appeal their case.

The Topic of Abortions is a difficult subject for me to have an opinion on because I am Catholic and so my religion asks me to believe that it is wrong. But I am a woman of this time in age and I understand that there is much more to this equation then just a woman aborting a child. In most cases there is an event that made them pregnant. Regardless of the situation, a woman should have the same rights to her body as a man. Another thing that comes to mind when I think about abortions are generally speaking the women who get abortions are typically not in the financial/ mental position to care for a child.

Living with the natives!!

In our country we are experiencing a unique situation of a country divided by race, heritage, and values. The Monoan tribe is currently having problems assimilating with our new founded countries values. We have formulated a brief action plan to help in the diversification of our country

First and foremost we would like to ensure the native tribes that they're included in the future progress and functionality of our democratic government. We will do this by creating a native position in our supreme council which will always be filled by a native blooded Monoan. 

Secondly, we will place advertisements in neighborhoods which have a majority of natives within their population. These advertisements will promote all the benefits of democracy. Mostly targeting the benefits of natives themselves joining in the democratic process. 

Lastly, we are initiating a new program which provides services which promote the specific desires of the voting citizenship i.e. government aid programs. This will ensure that the biggest benefits of living in our country is excluded from non citizens

Immigration

This section on immigration will cover who is allowed to immigrate into our island and the general idea behind how they become a citizen.  Anyone is allowed to immigrate to our country and become a citizen after they first meet two requirements.  One: must pass an evaluative screening like system for obvious reasons, much like passing through Ellis Island.  Two to become a citizen imigrants must have ability to "buy" their way in via land ownership.  Essentially perspective immigrants must be able to buy land.  The implications of family, partners, ect will be taken into account and the degree of land is subject to change.  A force will be initiated to patrol our "borders" security of illegal immigration will be enforced strictly.  Given that our country is an island surrounded by water patrols will use boats and radar will be used at various areas/ checkpoints to manage illegal immigration.  picture of ellis island:
